Government module
Governments and Energy Regulators have a crucial role to play in the restructuring and liberalisation of the energy sector. Several laws and bylaws need to be passed in order to enable the functioning of the reformed system. The evolving EU legislation on this matter poses an additional challenge. A lean and coherent legislation can speed up the transition to the new system and can improve its efficiency.
The Government module will focus on key issues in electricity market liberalisation, which special sections will address the role of governments as well as regulators. A panel debate session, that will close the module, will outline the expectations market players have as regards the actions of governments and regulators.
Government module will be accompanied by two complementary events: conference on Energy Efficiency and workshop on Renewable Energy Sources and Guarantees of Origin (RES workshop).
