Dr Howard Porter is the Marketing Director of BEAMA. BEAMA is the Uk trade body for the electrical sector. He also is responsible for the energy and sustainability initiatives of BEAMA, and is the Managing Director of the European Smart metering Industry Group.
He has a long experience of the demand side of energy markets, working with the UK Government, in previous roles, to assist to role out of energy efficiency goods and services. In recent years he has led the development of a number of new industry initiatives including the development of research projects on renewables, and the BEAMA Sustainability agenda. He is in regular contact with Government Ministers and Civil servants on such issues as the move towards zero carbon homes, the integration of renewables into electrical and water systems and the introduction of smart metering systems into all buildings types.
