Robert Voljčjak

Robert Volčjak was born in Kranj, Slovenia, on January 17th, 1971. He graduated in Economics with the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics in 1995. He got his M.Sc. in Operations Research in 1997 and his Ph.D. in Information Administration Sciences (subfield Operations Research) with the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics in 2000, for the thesis " Usefulness Boundaries of the Quality of Economic Modelling". He also concluded part of the study at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Ljubljana.

He was associated with the Economic Institute of the Law School in Ljubljana, the leading Slovenian institution in econometric research, in 1996 as a junior researcher and became research assistant and software & database administrator in 2000, from 2003 he works as scientific co-worker. His research areas are macroeconomic modelling, operations research, mathematical economics, econometrics and together with his special interests in nonlinear dynamics, wavelet theory, stochastic processes, time series analysis, leading indicators, regional economics, telecommunication economics, energy economics, tax systems and tax reforms and economic and social issues of the Western Balkan area.

He is co-editor of the quarterly "Ljubljanska gospodarska gibanja"(1997-) dealing with current regional issues and short run predictions for Slovenian capital Ljubljana and author or co-author of a number of articles and papers dealing with economic and econometric modelling, operations research and special economic issues. He speaks Slovenian (his native language), English, German, Italian, Latin and Serbian/Croatian. He is computer literate with general software like MS-Office as well as special computational and modelling software llike Mathematica, Matlab, Stata, E-Views etc.

He is married and lives in Preddvor near Kranj in the NW part of Slovenia.
